Dealer Profile – Bigperm Customs

Bigperm Customs is the embodiment of the Not 2 Grand ethos. If you’re on a budget and you want cools wheels, this is the place for you…

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We first stumbled upon the mighty Bigperm Customs via Instagram. With a feed awash with cool cars being subjected to all kinds of positive spannering, welding and customising, it was right up our street.

We like a well-modified car. Something that Shane and the team behind Bigperm Customs seem to knock out on a near daily basis. It’s impressive stuff, we strongly advise giving them a follow.

Interestingly though, building cars isn’t the only thing they do. Oh no, you can also buy a car from them too. But unlike other dealers, the offerings here are always interesting. You won’t find any Nissan Almeras or Ford Mondeos here. What you’ll find is a smattering of interesting cars that aren’t hard on the wallet. Don’t believe us? Read on, you cynical swines…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1808″ img_size=”large” onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][vc_column_text]

Does what it says on the tin

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]First up is this Bavarian beauty. We bloody love an E28 ‘shark nose’ 5-Series. Despite having owned one that was utterly terrible, we’d have another. And if we had more than lint and sweet wrappers in our pocket, we’d have this one in a heartbeat.

It’s a 520i with both a manual box and the smoother-than-silk straight-six engine. The Bigperm guys describe it as “mechanically faultless”, which is no bad thing. It’s got a couple of bumps and scrapes, but hey, it’s an old motor.

It’s got lots of MOT though, and it’s ready to rock. And honestly, can you think of a cooler ’80s saloon? The E28 is just one of those cars that turns heads, and this one is no exception. What you’re looking at here is an old school cruiser than you can use daily. Motoring perfection, right here for just £1,850.

This one could sway us though, especially as it’s a mere £1,250. That’s a lot of car, but it’s even more when you consider it’s been given a quick visit from the modification fairy.

She’s gone ‘bippity boppity boop’ on the wheels and suspension, giving the old Benz and much cleaner, contemporary look. Or, it’s well sick, if you’re a youth.

For not-a-lot-of-dosh, you get the car in 230E flavour. You get the OEM Mercedes alloys complete with brand new rubber. You get a fresh MOT and you also get to be the every of all the people you work with. Just think, those suckers pay hundreds a month for their cars and not one is anywhere near as cool as this.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1809″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1811″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1810″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Next up is something a bit more modern. It’s a Civic Type R EP3, that’s the one with the gear leaver sticking out of the dashboard. Great for fast, focused gear-changes, apparently. In the case of this particular car, it’s also very red indeed, so you won’t lose it in a car park. Or from space.

The Civic Type R has gone from strength to strength over the generations, and while the newest incarnation is a 160mph monster, the older cars are not to be ignored. Especially not when they’re this clean and just £1,995. You can’t get more bang for for your buck.

And you’re not sacrificing quality for a bargain price. Oh no. This red rocket has full MOT, nearly new tyres, it has a Longlife stainless exhaust, induction kit and no obvious signs of wear and tear. It’s going to be a classic one day. Buy it now, while you can. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1812″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1814″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1813″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Finally from the bargain bucket selection is this E32 7-Series, and it’s possibly our favourite. In fact, we know it is, because we actually got a little bit angry when we checked our bank balance after seeing this for sale. But just look at it, can you blame us? And for a paltry £950.

And what does your measly amount of money get you? It’s gets you two tonnes of 1980s ‘director of board’ luxury, that’s what. And we should imagine, as sense of being a big of a gangster when driving it. Don’t forget, the gangsters in Layer Cake had one. THAT COULD BE YOU!

Its last owner had it for 14 years, and in that time it’s wanted for nothing. Yeah, the body has a few issues, but it’s still presentable. Crucially though, the mechanicals are tip-top, mainly thanks to the engine having been recently rebuilt.

God damn, we want this one, so very much.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1815″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1816″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”1818″ img_size=”640×480″ onclick=”img_link_large” css_animation=”appear”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]So there you go, our delve into the offerings of Bigperm Customs. And what a selection it is. We completely approve of what these guys are doing, selling and sharing. They seem to have the idea of coll but wallet-friendly motoring down to a fine art, and that’s just fine with us.

Though it’s probably worth mentioning that’s it’s not all cheap stuff, Bigperm has plenty of cars for all budgets. Or, if there’s nothing there you like, just drag your desired car to Swansea and let them loose on it. if you need more persuasion, you can check out Bigperm Custom’s YouTube channel here.

Right, we want that E32 7-Series. We’re off to raid the sofa for coins…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
